Profile Completion Issue

Despite completing the necessary components to bring my profile to 100% completeness, Upwork is showing that I am only 70% complete. My profile still shows up with the information I had added, but it seems like Upwork isn't registering it. What can I do to remedy this?

Hello LuiggiR,

 

I added the Employment and Education history on upwork a month ago and they are still not being shown complete on profile completion. Same goes with the Portfolio details containing 2 projects.

 

Following are the items that I have completed from my end which are supposed to be showing 100% but is stuck at 95%.

 
  1. Profile photo
  2. Overview (Add a bio highlighting your talent)
  3. Employement
  4. Education
  5. Skills
  6. Portfolio
  7. Other experiences (Bootcamps, conferences, awards, etc.)

 

Please help me out.

Hi Talha,

 

Thank you for reaching out. I confirmed that your profile completion percentage is accurate. Remember that there are some items you can add more than one of, and they will count towards your completion percentage. Any combination of the optional choices can then be used to reach 100%. You can visit this article to see a helpful table of what items are required to obtain 50% and the additional optional items that would contribute to the remaining 50%.

I am facing the same problem, despite completing the below elements, my profile is showing only 85% completion status.

1. Education

2. Profile photo

3. Overview

4. Skills

5. Employment history

6. Certifications

Hi Ratab,

 

This is Ronna, stepping in for Luiggi. I checked and see that you’ll need to add more information in your profile to make it 100% complete. I suggest adding any or additional of the following:

 

- Certification 5% each (max 10%)

- A portfolio item 5% each (max 10%)

- Additional Employment history item 10% each (max 20%)

Hi Ronna. Thanks for responding.

Actually the problem is, upwork is not recognising my employment history and certifications, whereas I have added them. If it does, the profile would reach 100%. I have attached relevant screenshots below for reference.

I would like to share that there are many ways to get to a 100% complete profile. Any combination of the other choices can then be used to reach 100%. Please see the tables in this article for details about how to complete your profile.

Thanks Ronna for reviewing the profile completion. 

 

However, as per the table referred by you, to achieve 100%, the 50% mandatory includes employment history, that Upwork is not recognising for my profile. Therefore, even after adding more other components, I cannot achieve 100%.

 

So can you please raise a ticket for me, so that the issue can be resolved.

Hello Ratab,

 

Thank you for following up. I’m stepping in for Ronna. I checked your account, and it looks like you’ve successfully added an entry in the Employment History section. Could you please try adding at least one Other Experience item for an extra 5% or a Portfolio Item that can give your profile a maximum of 20%? Please feel free to visit the helpful article shared by Ronna.

Actually I cannot find any other experience to add in the profile, or and do not have a ready portfolio item, since I am just getting familiar with the platform as of now.

But since I have completed items upto 100 percent, can you please not check why Upwork is not recognising the work experience?

 

I am concerned for the completion, snce I cannot get the rising talent badge until the profile is complete. So can you please help me here?

 

Further as per the article you referred, in case the employment history is missing, the profile cannot achieve 100 percent from other items.

Thank you for replying. Could you please try the steps Carmela took on this post? If the issue persists even after doing so, please feel free to get back to us so we can further check this for you. A screenshot replicating the issue will be helpful. 

 

Additionally, the Rising Talent badge is available by invitation only. This means that even if you meet the qualifications for earning one, it will not be automatically added to your profile. Some factors are considered based on the criteria, your profile, and other factors, including your work category. The badge will be added to your profile if you're selected and no action is required from you.

The steps in Carmela's post worked, and I have acheived 100% completion.

 

Yes, I know the rising talent badge is only available on invitation basis. But I was concerned, since I was not even meeting the criteria, as the profile was not 100% complete.

You beat me to it, Ally! I was going to pose the same question, as I definitely completed the Employment History and Education sections, but the site is telling me they aren't done (with the same 70% completion rate). Hoping someone has a solution.

Hi,
I'm facing a problem in updating profile completion percentage. Still Profile is reflecting 40% completion although I updated the education details and portfolio in my profile.
So, please guide me If anyone have the solution for the same. Also I'm requesting to upwork support team for help and guide me to solve this issue.

Thanks for your guidance!

I've shared  the snapshots of my current profile. Please find them below. In the images, you can see that the education details and portfolio both has been done in the profile. But, In the second image, the completed tab is not desplaying completed task which I had already done before.

But, still I've been facing the same issue on profile completion. It would be appreciated if you could help me to resolve this issue.

Despite having uploaded the video introduction, profile completeness figure is not increasing. The figure has stuck at a fixed point.

I'm attaching the current screenshot for your reference. so that you can get an idea by comparing with previous profile snapshots.

I checked the support ticket and I see that one of our team members has already shared the tips to complete your profile. Please don't hesitate to follow up with them on the same support ticket if you have additional questions regarding your concern. You can also view and respond to the support ticket via the notification sent to your registered email address. Note that support requests are responded to in the order they are received. hi all,

i was facing same issues. i put work history but it is still asking to put you work experience but i had only one job...
now i donot have any online work experience how to add this in portfolio .......

i hope you understand my point... i am at 90 now.....
