Client facing difficulty in finding a freelancer

Do you guys think it's easy for any freelancers, especially newbies, to find a job here?

Because as a client, once I have posted a job, I can only invite 30 freelancers. But if barely gotten any of them are available or interested then I have to repost the job to get another 30 which is prohibited in policy due to spam. So that's why I need as many freelancers as possible to apply to my job.

So the platform is offering to pay a very high cost (adding to that the initiation fee also) compared to any other platform to get the job post featured (without refundable guarantee if I do fail to get the required freelancers). So I think it's just that's not right, while the fact is that I am sure so many freelancers are having a hard time getting a job. I just do not understand how the platform is making the clients difficult to find the requiredfreelancers while many of the freelancers themselfs are having difficulty to find a job here.

I think the very high cost job post feature is not accurately a good idea, because it's possible that there is not enough amount of freelancers in the platform also, eventually the clients must bear losses due to the job post featured fee. I mean, it depends on the job post nature, some job have so many freelancers available on the platform but some other job have too little amount of freelancers registered here in.

What kind of job do you posting if 60 more freelancers do not want to have deal with you?

About spam policy, look like noone care about that. I see many doubles daily. It wasnt removing long time: very annoing to see that spam again and again.

Honestly, it's kind of rude in my culture that you are asking question where you should be answering my question firstly.

Well, I was talking about Google app script code. basically in most case they will say that they are not available because as I see it, there are not so many freelancers with the criteria skill herein.

Wrong, they flagged my account and give me a serious warning.

Yep, many skilled developers has gone when gambling added, But it is still common skills. It is strange. Maybe price too low?

About spam: 4 doubles in my feed for last 30 minutes. Should be flagging useless or you added to some upwork blacklist.

I do not think it's entirely about the price either, because once they have agreed it means it's not too low.
In some case they agreed and then they just left because it seems to me they are working on a full-time job, but nevertheless it's because there are just not enough amount of freelancers for that typical particular skill here.

Which kind of skill you are looking for?

just google app script are hard to find here.

I can help your topic.

well, consider this:

many job offerings

- ask a ton of connects from freelancers

- clients never communicate back why a freelancer is not chosen (so frustrating if you hand crafted a cover letter with 100% skill coverage)

- offered rewards are sometimes lower than my son's job.

Besides, skilled freelancers looking for new opportunities have to 'compete' against freelancers pretending to have the skills (been a client myself at time , I thought I found a skilled person, only to realize after they did not return decent work they where scams.)

As an example a recent hilarious post **Edited for Community Guidelines**

This job involves skills and work I do on a daily basis in our university lab, so i know what it needs to get the job done.

As freelancer I'm asked to do the job that:

1) requires at least PhD level experience

2) both computational and biological knowlege (a rare combination)

3) high communication skills

The reward.... a meager $5 per hour. (my son works as a waiter/dishwasher and get $11/h)

Even though I probably could get the job done in a few hours, its just not worth spending the time on. I could understand the fee if the job was offered from a low income country, but this is a US!!!! based job offer.

My 2 cents: if you have an interesting job, pay a decent amount of money, you don't get monkeys and the fee is fine.

Some clients for which I did jobs became long lasting clients. Some even became personal friends.

I do not think you need to spend connects  if you are invited right?

Due to increasing in connects freelancers finding opportunities on other platforms and if freelancers invited so face bug when accepting proposal so that might be reason.

And if invited freelancers are didn't respond so might possible they thought of spam and low cost jobs increase on Upwork since Feb mid and march, so many of them were thinking twice or they didn't received a mail or received a mail may be in promotion section.

and freelancers facing same issue they are applying for lot of job but didn't get interview and view, might possible when you search freelancers and invite freelancers at that time searching algorithm not works well and those are not actual talent and their criteria might different. And actual talent hide and view post and seen that 30 freelancers are invited so if freelancers will apply on that job post then he will be loss connects and no surity if he/she will get that job or not after investing $3 in each job post.

So it's about algorithm pattern which not matching with actual talent. Same scenario with my client he got proposal and invited 24 around and non of them is relevant, and he didn't found my profile on Upwork while invite..strange! And I have exactly match skill and he find me on other platforms easily.

So talent is there and clients too but algorithm have to match right and relevant job and freelancers

So both side, client and freelancers, have to pay so much money eventually they don't get what they paid for.

Yes...issue in algorithm pattern

To invite 60 freelancers is a joke. No offense, but if I saw that I would think two things. 1. This guy is inviting everyone and there mother. 2. With so many people invited why waste my time. Are you also looking at people that sent proposals, but were not invited, or are you just focusing on those you invited?

are you here to insult or give an answer ?

You are probably a freelancer whom never even spent a penny in the platform but insulting clients whom are actually that keeps making payments, that makes you feels good ?

I gave an answer. 60 invites is a joke. It is not an insult, it is a fact. If you tink I am insulting you, well I apologize. As far as making payments is concerned I have no idea what you have paid on this site.

What type of Job requires more than 30 Invites?

What do you need a freelancer for because in 99% of the cases it's extremely easy to locate a freelancer?

Are you having freelancers applying for the job that are unqualified?

If you asked me a question, which was way is to downtown ?
then I will ask you back, why would you go to downtown ?
then you ask me again, why do you live here ?
then I ask you back again, why do you come here ?

Very smart idea, answer a question with another question ! 🤝

Wow! Thanks for sharing that. Now I know why some clients has this trust issues. As a highly skilled photo editing specialist, I still find it really hard to get a job. Unless it has only 5 to 10 proposals and the others are way too risky because of the unverified payment. Now I know why they are scared to risk it.

honestly, it has gotten to a POINT where i just send proposals without hope, no messages not even viewed proposal, i am truly fed up, clients are complaining about freelancers using AI to write proposals and they cannot distinguish the unique one among them, now upwork has done it all and brought UMA isnt this a increase in the terrrible situation, there are a lot of clients and freelancers leaving upwork as they feel the value is no more there, personally i have lost hope, i have had stories  just checked in the communitty to se diffrent updates, to be honest it a lost cause . IN Few months to come upwork will be a den oSubject: Proposal: Add buyer emails to store list. Also, generate leads for natural food stores and cafes intere😓sted in our organic chocolate bars using Yelp and other platforms.f scammers and palace for exploiters

😓

Seems I got many confirmation in here that are hard to find jobs here, so I really wonder why upwork made it hard (expensive) for clients to find / hire freelancers.

Look like Upwork no more interested to connect you with good worker asap. A while you posting doubles to extend limit freelancers keep applying for your jobs. So i found that it is very strange to warn you from doubles.

Many times i faced with preverting of job completing: i found job, applied, able to do, available, agree with price... but client dont see my proposal and continue to wait. Other freelancers continue to waste more and more money.
