Delay in approving identification of freelancer

Hello. I have been working with a reliable freelancer for a couple years and it seems that Upwork is now asking her to submit identification information so that her identifiy can be verified. It is taking a long time for Upwork to approve the documents she has submitted and she cannot receive payments for her work. Is there anything I can do in this situation to accelerate the process of Upwork verifying her identity so she can be paid?

Hi Derek,

We do periodically require users to go through identity checks because we know this is a critical part of maintaining a trusted online global workplace and helps to keep Upwork safe, secure, and fraud-free. As a part of our ID Badge verification program, freelancers are asked to complete the verification process by uploading an official government-issued ID and meeting with us for a short video call within 7 days. During this time they are able to continue working on their active contracts as normal. The freelancer can't have somebody else do the verification on their behalf.
