Hello,
Recently, we have noticed that Upwork is processing a payment authorization, and then processing a second payment the following day. It takes about 7 days for the initial payment authorization request to expire.
For example, if we are billed $500, Upwork creates a pending authorization with the bank for $500, and then the following day, Upwork processes a new transaction for $500, but doesn't close the pending authorization.
It takes at least 7 days for the pending authorization to be canceled, but those funds are still tied up at the bank. The bank balance will be $1,000 less, until the pending authorization expires 7 days later.
But the following week, when the previous weeks pending authorization expires, there are new pending authorizations, and then a duplicate charge for work done the previous week, so the cycle continues.
This is a new issue as of the last two weeks.
It makes it difficult for both funding Upwork expenses and bookkeeping.
Any ideas?
