Hi Everyone,
We are a very small company based out of the USA and new to upwork. We are working to hire a contractor in India to help us with with some recruiting services. He agreed to work for us for $2.60/hr for every hour he works for us. We anticipate close to 300 hour every month. We are trying to figure our what would be the cheapest way for us to pay him through Upwork. Can someone guide us here, please?

The (absolute) minimum hourly rate on Upwork is $ 3.00

300 hours a month? That's over 70 hours a week...

Through Upwork you would be billed weekly for the hours logged the previous week ( hours x $3.00+ plus a 3% payment processing fee)

Everything sounds good except for the number of hours. I meant to say 150 hours a month sorry.
Beyond the 3% processing fee is there a fee for the contractor too?

Upwork collects a fee from freelancer earnings:
up to $500: 20%
$500 to $10000: 10%
$10000+: 5%
