re: "What will happen when you circumvent fees?"
a) You are automatically registered as a bad person in the Celestial Register.
b) You begin to feel a sense a deep shame and paranoia about being caught
c) When Upwork catches you, your account will be terminated and any money in your account will be seized.
d) You probably end up getting ripped off. Because the "clients" who arrange circumvention of fees with you are probably not planning to pay you off-platform. They are probably planning on taking your work and paying you nothing. And if that happens, there is nothing you can do about it.

Lightning will strike immediately even if there are no thunderstorms. You read about people that go hiking and get struck by lightning. These stories are fake news. Those are all former upwork freelancers trying to circumvent, poor sods.

Having learned that upfront payments don't work, and circumventing fees is not a viable strategy, OP's profile has vanished.

It hasn't vanished ... it's a client profile.

Oh, I thought it said 'no longer available' and that meant... never mind.

I hate to be that gramamr guy, but because you used the word "when" that's implying you're going to circumvent Upwork's fees sooner or later.
As such, you'll be banned ahead of time!
Yes it's a client profile, probably "asking on behalf of a freelancer" LOL

No, just asking for a friend. Or a friend of a friend --- you get the idea.

There are lots of people in the Forum who have "friends" that have problems.
