I disagree with the Upwork policy of having to give public feedback before a contract can be terminated. It is invasive of privacy and confidential agreements and as I have seen can lead to disingenuous reviews. Does anyone else have a way to end a contract confidentially?

There are multiple ways to NOT LEAVE feedback.
If I am the client, I can tell the freelancer to close the contract, and then I never need to leave any feedback whatsoever.
If I am the client, I can close the contract and I ALWAYS have the option to leave NO WRITTEN FEEDBACK whatsoever. I can always leave that field blank.
If I am the client, I AM NOT REQUIRED TO EVALUATE the freelancer in the six star resting categories.
I can simply click five stars for all six categories without thinking about them. Leaving all five star ratings without thinking about the categories is the equivalent of not leaving feedback.
