Hi, I am just new here and I just tried shooting my shot in freelancing because of some personal reason. But I didn't heard about connect the first time I tried registering here. Is it really needed to buy a 0.15 USD connect for me to give a proposal to my client? And I have read some articles about getting 20 or 40 connects once I enter Upwork, but I didn't received any. Does that mean my account is not really apporved or it's just that I am really new here? Thank you in advance!

Hello Upwork Community, I hope you're all doing well. For the past Ten months, I’ve been navigating through some tough times on Upwork, and I wanted to share my journey with the community. Like many freelancers, I’ve struggled to secure projects, which has affected my income and overall confidence. It’s been frustrating, and at times, I’ve even thought about leaving the platform altogether. Working on Upwork is something I truly want to continue doing because it’s a great opportunity to grow as a freelancer. However, financial challenges have made it hard to invest in boosting my profile or purchasing connects, which are essential for bidding on jobs. As of now, I’ve found myself in a tough spot—unable to secure new projects and feeling stuck in my progress. On top of that, my family is not supportive of investing money into the platform, which has made it even harder to keep going. I believe that with the right support, I could turn things around. If I could land a few initial projects, I know I could start earning again, reinvest in my profile, and grow my freelancing career on Upwork. Additionally, the challenging economic situation in Bangladesh has made things even more difficult for me recently, adding to my overall stress. Despite these obstacles, I’m determined to push through and find success on Upwork, but I could really use some guidance or support from the community. I sincerely appreciate your understanding, and if anyone has advice on how to navigate these challenges or how to secure initial projects when things are tough, I would be extremely grateful.
