Accidently I got a refund request from one client

Hello

I had one contract from one client.

But we didn't start to work from poor spec. Just only contract.

Today, I got a refund request from the client suddenly. The money is in escrow and he ended the contract without discussion.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to respond to him.

I am worrying if it's related to my Job Success Score.

I never started to work and got paid nothing.

Would like you to make me clear with this problem.

Thanks

The client created a contract and put money in Escrow. When closing the contract, the client asked for the funds in Escrow back.

How long has the contract been open? Because Upwork auto-closes contracts where theris money in escrow 90 days after the milestone was funded.

If no work was done, obviously the only thing you can do is agree with the return of the escrow funds back to the client.

The contract will affect your JSS. Either because the client left poor private feedback when closing the contract or because the contract ended with nothing ever being paid, which most of the time has an adverse affect on the JSS.

In future, do not accept contracts until you have the right specs etc to complete at least the first milestone.

Thanks, Petra.

There is no option to give feedback to the client on my side.

Seems he canceled the contract.

And the contract started within 90 days ago.

So there is no reason to be closed by upwork.

Well, because the contract is caceled, it will not be an adverse affect?

Thanks, again.
