My direct to bank payment method has been deactivated since my upwork account name does not match the name in my bank account---this is because I previously used my nickname when I created this account.
But I have already edited my details to replace my nickname with my full name here in upwork. Any chance you could have my payment method activated already?

Hello! I was supposed to get my payment today but I got a message saying that my "payment method" has been deactivated because "the beneficiary name is mismatched" . I don't understand, I've been paid on this account since the beginning 18 months ago. Can you help me please? Thanks a lot.

I've just tried to withdraw money but i'm getting this error:
Your payment method has been deactivated because the beneficiary name on your payment method does not match the name on your Upwork account.
My name on my payment method is exactly the same as the one on my Upwork account, i'm not entirely sure what the problem here is, anyone know the solution to this? I can provide a bank statement if necessary to solve this.
I tried contacting support but it says "A support agent will get in touch shortly" but it doesn't provide any case ID and it's not showing in my requests.

Hello, after adding my local banking details to my Upwork account to withdrawl the funds I got the notififcation like this "Your payment method has been deactivated because the beneficiary name on your payment method does not match the name on your Upwork account." I have submitted correct details, although I got this.
Could you guys please verify and solve it ASAP.

I just added a direct to local bank payment option (with my real name Peter Oladimeji) and I received a message that the beneficiary name on the bank account does not match the name on my Upwork account. 😟
Now, my Upwork account reads Peter Oladimeji (same with my local bank account) and I have not changed my name on Upwork yet.

To set up payment to your bank or payment account, you must be listed as an account holder or authorized signer on that account, or demonstrate that you are authorized by the business to do so. The listed name on the account must match your verified name on Upwork. You might want to check this help article for more information.

Thank you, Joanne. I sent the Upwork team supporting documents (bank statement + government issued ID) showing my legal name, which matches the verified name on my current contracts. I checked my verified name as well as the article you provided. I am a bit perplexed as to how this became an issue when my name was consistent throughout the requisite documentation.
