Hi,
I already accepted a contract and am supposed to be starting today but the contract is still showing that it's pending. Is there something wrong with my account or does it has something to do with the client?

It probably has something to do with the client: If they don't have their payment method verified or didn't fund the contract, etc. You can ask the client or ask Upwork Support. Either way, do NOT begin any work until you see that contract under "My Jobs" -> "Active Contracts". If it's a fixed price contract, make sure the 1st milestone is fully funded before beginning any work.
