Ending contract by freelancer

Hi!

I am a freelancer. I have finished a job for a client a few days before the milestone. The client has paid for the job, but he told me that it would need some time to check the delivered documents. Five or six days after, he said to me that he had not checked the documents yet. Now, after ten days from the delivery, he even does not answer my messages. Should I end the contract or wait for his answer. I have doubts that my possible clients see that I have not finished the previous job, or it takes to long for that kind of job and I can get new clients. This was my first job.

Does the contract duration have an impact on my score/rating?

It has no impact on your score or rating unless at least two months have gone by with no payment, and clients have no idea how quickly or slowly you're working, so that doesn't matter either. If you submitted the work using the "submit" button, you'll automatically get paid after 14 days. There's no need to keep reminding the client; it's not your place to tell them how quickly they should review your work.
