Hi...I submitted a proposal to a potential client and now they would like an initial discussion about content, terms and rates? How best should I move forward so I dont break the rules, and don't they already know my rate based on my profile??

Steve, only way I can think of whereby you could break a rule would be discussing payment off platform. The client *should* be aware of your rate but perhaps they want to negotiate it. Only way to find out is by reiterating what your rate is.

Well, by the sounds of it to move forward you need to have the initial discussion. Why do you think you could break rules? Just make sure all payments are kept on the platform and i cant see what else you have to be concerned about!

They know the rate you put in on your proposal (and possibly your profile rate if its different) that doesnt mean they accept it, they probably want to talk and maybe see if there is movement in the price?
