Dear UW Community,
Recently, I did work for a client. It was urgent work, so I sat through the night and completed the task. I earned 40 USD for that. The client paid upfront, and we both were happy. But suddenly I got a message the other day saying that the money has been refunded to the client and UW sent me a mail telling me that he was a fraud.
My point is that he got the work without paying anything. It was for his thesis, so that it won't come online anyway.
Further, they took his review, the work credentials, and everything off of my page. I am just starting with Upwork, and I feel helpless.
Please guide me. Is there no way to get the money?

No.
You can not get the money.

The client might not necessarily have been a fraud, in the sense that he was probably willing to pay you.
But he was suspended from upwork because this kind of thing is academic fraud and strictly forbidden.
To be safe, never do that again. You might lose your profile too.
