How do I close/delete my account?

Hello. I made a profile on Upwork. When trying to cancel, I get

**Edited for Community Guidelines**
I want to be able to fix it myself without being forced towards a phone number.

Hi Vikram,

 

If you'd like to close your account, first make sure you withdraw any active proposals on your Proposals page

complete and close any active contracts and don't have any available or pending balance. Then you can close your account by visiting this page. For more information and detailed steps, please visit this help article.


As a gentle reminder, please know that you will not be allowed to create a new account. If you need to use your Upwork account again in the future, you can reach out to us through our different support channels, and we will assist you with reinstating your account.

I want to close my Upwork account but I facing this issue : 

There was an error loading this page: error [81a1dcd12a1a4899-LIS, 81a1dcd12a1a4899-LIS], When I navigate to Close account page. I think the problem is caused by the field labeled Why are you closing your account? isn't appearing!

 

If someone has a solution help me, please!

I recently sent a proposal for a job. Then, I received a message inviting me to communicate via Telegram. I declined. But there is an active proposal listed on my app and the job posting was deleted from Upwork. I want to close my account and my data because I don't feel my personal information is safe. I am also having a problem trying to close my account. When I try to close my account, I get the message: "There was an error loading this page: error [81a903835b097768-LHR, 81a903835b097768-LHR]. Contact Upwork Support for more information." but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to contact Upwork Support? There doesn't seem to be a way to see/fill in the box to detail why I'm closing my account, which appears mandatory. I've tried this on Mac and PC, in Chrome, Brave, and Microsoft Edge.

 

Assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

I am currently in search of a contact support email or a specific contact person. Regrettably, the contact support and automated chatbot have proven unhelpful in addressing my issue.

 

My predicament stems from attempting to delete my account. Unfortunately, an error on the website impedes me from doing so. (Please see attached the screenshot) The website instructs me to reach out to the support service for assistance. However, when I engage with the chatbot, it informs me that I am ineligible for agent-based support, without providing any explanation for this ineligibility.

 

Could you kindly assist me in acquiring a valid contact address for the support team? I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

I am trying to close a freelancer account.

 

There are no outstanding contracts; there are no outstanding payments or withdrawls; there are no propsals. However, when I try to close the account I'm presented with the attached arror. I'm unable to get 'support' as I was instructed to do, as my account is not elligible. I guess I haven;t spent enough money with UpWork for that!

 

I would simply like to close the account please.

Seems like I can't contact support either because I'm not eligible to contact support.
