Service fee

Dear Seniors,
I accepted a project offer for $500. At the time of accepting the offer, the estimated amount I was supposed to receive was $450. However, when the client released the payment, a service fee of $100 was deducted. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

It's 20% service fee on the first $500 of a client order until May 3rd when the fees drop to 10% across the board. Thanks!
