How many Specialized Profiles can a Freelancer create/have at a time?

Hello! I'm new here, still setting up my profile and trying to figure stuff out.

I have several questions I couldn't find the answers for, but the first one I need to ask is: When setting up a specialized profile, is it supposed to work all on its own, or does it work hand in hand with the general profile?

For example, do I need to introduce myself (who I am, work experience, etc.) on each profile? When sending out an application, what profile do the clients see first?

Client can view all your profiles when visiting your profile page. Your general profile is automatically selected when you submit an offer. If you prefer to bid with a specific specialized profile, you can choose that (at the top) during your bid.

It is standalone: need to fill it from scratch.

Main profile is necessary, specialized is optional (you can skip it)

Hi Rashmi,

A specialized profile is not the same as your general profile. It shows a different side of your skills and experience. You cannot make your specialized profile your main one, but you can swap the content between them. This way, you can tailor your profile to different types of clients and projects. I'm trying to add a specialised profile having read the guide, but I see no option to add one on my profile. Has the location to do this changed?

Hi Linden,

You should be able to add one by visiting your Profile Settings page and clicking on "Add Specialized Profile". Don't hesitate to let us know if you need further assistance.

Hello. I have had a specialised profile on upwork but deleted it. Now, I want to create a specialised profile but I can't seem to locate the 'plus icon' to add it to my profile.

Hi Tosin,

You can add up to two Specialized profiles to your Upwork account. I see that you already have one Specialized profile and you can add a second Specialized profile by clicking 'Add Specialized Profile' button on your Profile Settings page.

Front-end and web developer profile and  Data Analytics Professional | Python  profile

I want the Data Analytics Professional | Python  to be my default profile  then I  will delet Front-end and web developer profile or make it hidden because I want  my feed and best matches to be tasks related to Data Analytics Professional | Python .

Hi Fayza,

I checked and can confirm that you have created one Specialized Profile. Please remember that if you only have one specialized profile, you will not see the option to delete or unpublish it. But you can always edit the information for accuracy and to reflect your current experience and skills!
