Is subcontracting allowed? Whereas I could find a client and let someone do the work, ofcourse I would let the client know. I've read some threads where it is allowed only with fixed price contracts but they were out dated already. Thanks!

Yes, subcontracting is allowed on fixed price contracts only, with the client's knowledge.
