Tax Identification Number

Good day! I am Richmond from the Philippines and I do have a concern regarding the TIN in tax information for me to withdraw my earnings. The problem is that I don't have my TIN yet or a National ID and acquiring this requirement took years to have for some people in our country. I don't know when I will get my national ID if I get it now, but it will surely take months or even years to get it. What should I do about this? I need to withdraw my earnings to help me with my studies and everyday expenses.

As long as you're of legal age, you can apply for TIN in the Philippines. You may consult your local tax authority to get more information.

Without submitting TIN details as proof that you are a non-U.S. Person, Upwork will be required to withhold up to 30% of your future earnings on Upwork and send that withholding tax to the IRS. Kindly check this help article for more information.
