can I have a zoom call before contract using the upwork integrated feature?

So I got an invite from a client, I accepted and made a proposal. Upwork chat was used for discussion and they asked me for Skype, i told them it was against tos and told them to either start the contract and then we can have a Skype call or do the meeting in the integrated zoom call. They have a history of around 400$ spent and a couple of reviews and payment is verified. What should I do?

Note: It's my first project, the contract has not started as of yet.

You did all right. Only Messages and integrated Zoom allowed before contract.

Some legal clients ignoring ToS, it is dont mean that client is scammer. But you must follow rules.
