how long does it take to get the first client?

I had this question in my mind.  I understand every Client wants the best person to complete their work. But if you have vast Experience but new to upwork , how do we gain the trust of clients? 

I believe its a genuine question and love to see any tips to get their first client

Welcome, when you talked about gaining client confidence. As a freelancer, you should know what skill you are good at and have mastered. You should have previous work down outside Upwork, you can attach that to your portfolio for clients to see how good you are.
