Yes, please report him. But that will not prevent him from being able to sign up again using a different name and email address because Upwork does not verify the identities of clients.

Fake office365 contract:

He will ask for complete solution and run away with the concept:

I am confused.

If a client asks a freelancer to do something, and the freelancer does the work for free...

Is that a "fake client"?

Isn't that really a "freelancer using Upwork incorrectly"?

I am not sure how the concept of a "fake client" is useful here.

If "John Beetleburger" hires me to do a task, and he is 100% honest about his name, and where he lives, and what he wants me to do for him, and then I do the task for him, but I don't set up the contract correctly and instead do the work for free...

Then is this a "fake client"? Or a foolish freelancer?

No, if he keep on manipulating you and keep on asking you to do more & more for free. that makes the deal fraudulent.

after skills are tested in maximum two hours of maximum free meeting.

he should not manipulate to give out a free solution!

i hope, its clear!

There are some bad people on this world.

I can't control what they do.

But I can control what I do.

The freelancer can proactively decide to not work for free.

The freelancer can decide to not play along with dumb games that manipulate him into providing free work under the guise of "skill tests".

I am sorry if a bad person has wasted your time. The important thing now is to learn from your mistakes and not make those same mistakes again in the future.
