scam job information

I had a potential client who contacted me via messages on Upwork.  Ok all good, however, I asked him to place payment in escrow and offer a contract.  Never heard from him/her again.  And then he messages me this morning acting like he's new to Upwork and blah, blah, blah.  I'm like, go to this place and do what I asked you to do.  So now he/she is wanting to send me a sample of their work.  Um, go ahead but you won't get anything back or any service from me without escrow and contract.  I got crickets!  LOL  So I just blocked whoever that was and moved on.  Don't let these people keep you hanging waiting.
