searches to exclude specific words

Wondering if anyone out there knowa whether it is possible to do a search for work here that excludes specific words? UpWork seems to have to have become the "all romance" landing site for fiction writers now and since I do not write in this genre I would like to do searches exclusing the word romance. I have sent multiple inquiries about this to UpWork but all have been ignored.
