That isn't true, though. Upwork marks some proposals "best match" while throwing others into a folder that a client has to click to open - you think that doesn't influence clients?

https://community.upwork.com/t5/Clients/My-proposals-are-archived/m-p/547356#M39060
is this why
I have checked the proposals that are archived and most of the freelancers that got the job have low profile than me I perfectly fit for the jobs that lost more than others.
and I'm paying for membership and extra for connects
why would talent specialists block my proposals?
What's going on??

It isn't. If you read the whole topic, you'll find that Upwork conceded and stopped doing this almost 2 years ago.

Hi Yabets,
I understand that it can be disappointing when clients end up hiring another freelancer. We can't influence a client's decision during the hiring process, but I'd like to recommend a few helpful resources that can help you build your profile and submit winning proposals for a higher chance of getting noticed by clients:
Enhance Your Freelancer Profile for Greater Success
Make Your Freelancer Profile More Visible & Appealing
How to Create a Proposal that Wins Jobs
Craft an Eye-catching Proposal Every Time

thanks, for sharing Christine
I have already tried all of the recommendations but still, I am not getting anything
I have an outstanding profile, JSS, portfolio, and fulfill clients requirement when I apply for the job I apply before the proposal no reached 5-10 and I do not apply unless I am sure that I can fit the job perfectly.
it worked out good before

I know there is a competition but I don't think competition is the problem I have an appealing profile great JSS, portfolio, 5 * client reviews my proposals are well crafted with great samples attached I have successfully completed several jobs on up work
its been a month since I got interviewed but those recommendations are not working any more

Don't get me wrong - I don't think that Upwork is hiding your proposals (not all of them, anyway) or that there's some kind of a bug. It's normal to have ups and downs when you're freelancing, and business is usually slow at this time of year.

Hi Sarra
I was having the same issue, but please make sure to active on upwork and to submit proposals which exactly matched to your profile skills. Better to submit proposal per day rather than using all the connects. This will take little time to get developed your profile.
Good luck!

I'm experiencing the same issue! Despite being relatively new to Upwork, I possess strong design skills and always provide samples of my work along with a link to my portfolio (outside of upwork). I'm selective in my applications, targeting only those projects where I'm a perfect fit, and in most cases, I believe I'm such a good fit that I should at least secure an interview.
Unfortunately, I haven't landed a single job yet, which means I have no work to showcase in my Upwork portfolio or any reviews to secure confidence in those selecting a candidate. I always submit my proposals promptly, often before too many others have been submitted. I diligently track when the client views proposals and how many interviews are sent out, but I rarely even get a "viewed" notification.
I've revamped my profile and carefully studied other applicants and their work. While everyone's work is impressive, I believe mine is equally strong and often tailored specifically to the industry. It's understandable that clients may lean towards freelancers with previous work and reviews, but this creates a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem. I'm confident that I would receive great reviews once hired, but I need to be given the opportunity first!
Isn't solving this problem what Upwork is all about?
It seems like Upwork's system of charging for "connects" doesn't effectively lead to connections.
I'm curious if the Upwork algorithm might push someone to the bottom of a list or make their proposal less visible if it includes a link that leads clients elsewhere. However, I need to include my portfolio link as it's often required.
