First rating is just 3 stars. Will I still have a chance to get hired?

Hello,

I am very new with Upwork, and literally no idea about this platform. What happened is that the job that I applied for the contract was sent to me via upwork. I just have to go with the flow because I was eager to start the job.  To cut the story short, due to personal reasons and events in my life, I have decided to end my contract and inform the client that I can no longer continue.

I only received 3 stars. My question is, will I still have a chance to get hired? Even if I already have certificates of training for virtual assistant jobs?

Thank you.

Jerome

Appreciate your feedback. I was doing well to be honest however, something personal did affect my performance that is why I have to stop.

Anyways, after that experience, I decided to improve my profile and understand the world of freelancing by attending certification course

I guess I have to accept that my first rating was low. I need to work hard and work smart the. next time. Thank you.

The only way to get rid of this rating at this point would be refunding the total amount.

Well, it depends. You specifically mentioned that you received this job via an invitation (from a talent specialist?) and just went with the flow, as if it wasn't really your decision to take on the job. But later you decided that you couldn't continue due to reasons.

I get the impression that you didn't take this very seriously, and that's fine! People can use upwork any way they please. If it's just a fun thing to do in your free time, go for it!

It's only a problem if you realise later that a bad feedback is bad, and can keep away serious clients. You need to make a decision now: are you going to take this seriously from now on, improve your profile, apply for jobs, or are you going to wait for the next invitation?

Appreciate your feedback. I was doing well to be honest however, something personal did affect my performance that is why I have to stop.
