How do I get my first client?

I have been submitting amazing and not-so-long proposals and I'm really struggling to get my first client. I do actually do a good job with my work I don't just mess around.

I submitted a lot of proposals over 20 so far, and I can't afford to submit like 10 proposals a day, it's just too many connects that I can't buy.

What should I do??
