Negotiating Rates

Hi - Is there any reason I'm not supposed to negotiate my bid rate for a position when a job messages me? The client sent me a message saying they would love to work with me but that my bid is out of their budget range. Can I propose a new price?

Sure, talk to the client and see if you can come to some mutually agreeable compromise.
