I don't have a bank account or card yet, but i have started working for someone already. will he still be able to pay me before I create my bank account?

Don't worry about this.

Clients can pay you, and that money will be safe in your Upwork account

You can leave it there for quite a while. I believe the money an stay in your account for 180 days.

So there is plenty of time for you to get a bank account or PayPal account or other payment withdrawal method set up.
