Hi.. I sent few proposals and one of them is in active proposal, the client msg me to complete task as mentioned in offer, so just wanna ask what active proposal mean and will i get paid if i complete my task..

If the client wants you to do work, they have to hire you first.

An active proposal is just the interview stage. If you do the work without being hired, the client coud not pay you without hiring you even if they wanted to.

don't start working before the client hiring you and start the contract. otherwise that against Upwork policy

Not against policy in the sense that gets your profile suspended (though it might get the client suspended), but it is obviously a good idea to use the platform as intended.
