I'm currently 17 year old and have been made aware of the policy through the identity verification protocol thing. I am aware that my account will be unusable after 7 days.

Is there a way that I can use this same account when I turn 18 on the 21st of September next year?

Or perhaps even a way to work as a 17 year old?

I have read that the age is is compliant to the jurisdiction that the freelancer in question is currently in, and I've confirmed that the working age in the UAE is 16 and above, would that be sufficient to allow me to continue my freelancing activities?

Hi Benedict,

Thank you for your message and interest in working at Upwork! Upwork requires users to be 18 years or older to utilize the site. Therefore, if an account owner is younger than 18, due to privacy and legal requirements, their account will be closed and the account information deleted. Once they have reached 18 they are able to sign up for a new account. Unfortunately, they won't be able to revive the account they created when they were underage.
