Identity (ID) Verification

i have trublle with Identity Verification, i live in lebanon, and the only way to verify my identity in lebanon is with passport, but i dont have passport,  is there any other way to work on this platform ?please i need help ASAP

Hi Mohamad, 

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

You may be asked to complete a visual verification and provide a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.



If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

I have checked your account and looks like it doesn't need to be verified yet. Please note that you will not be able to initiate the identity verification yourself and it cannot be requested. If the team finds the need for you to do it, you will receive an email detailing the instructions on how to complete your verification. You may want to check this help article for more information.

I read the article, it says that verification takes 1-2 days. But it has been 3.5 weeks since my registration. Who else can I contact? No one has had that long. Can I take projects or do I still have to wait.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your account is already approved, which means you can already submit proposals and take on projects. What isn't available to you right now is the ID Verification Badge which cannot be requested. Once the team finds you're required to do so, you will receive an email detailing the instructions on how to complete your verification.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked and it doesn't look like you are required to complete any verification process at the moment. Only earning freelancers are eligible/required to earn the “Identity Verified” badge. If you become eligible/required, we will notify you when you log into your Upwork account.

Hi,

I am trying to reach out on behalf of one of the members of our agency. Her account is on hold, she failed to check in her emails the messages from Upwork, advising her to verify her account. She did try to prove it by providing her ID and taking a selfie with her ID, but up until now, her account is still on hold. She is expecting to be hired by a new client and is supposed to start on Monday, 06/06/2022. Please help, if there's a way to expedite the process for her account to be active again. I recently joined Upwork and it required me to verify the location. So I submitted my passport but it's saying upwork can't authenticate my passport. What's up? I need to use Upwork platform asap to fill out my pipeline. Could you check my account and restore my account?

Have you tried using the "Speak with an agent" option that's shown on the screenshot you shared? You should be able to use that option to get assistance completing the verification process. Don't hesitate to let us know if you're still having trouble completing the verification process.

Hi Joanne,

I submitted a help request several days ago related to id verification --the system was not reading my driver's liscence and I reached the maximum number of tries to submit. I'm not sure what to do now, and would appreciate any help.
