Specialized Profiles

Hello all, I would like to know if the Upwork Specialized Profile plays a crucial role in bidding? 

I earlier was using my Specialized profiles to bid, but now I have changed my both specialized profiles and submitting all the bids from the General profile. To my surprise, I saw that all my boosted bids got Outbid! 

I would like to know if is this because I am using the General profile or if the client is outbidding jobs from his end. Or for jobs like full-stack/frontend/backend, it is required to bid only from a specialized profile? 

What could be the reason please for this? Please help or suggest a way.

I have not had any extra results from a specialized profile. I only use them to send for my benefit to customers with a need not matching my normal work. I see no marketing advantage from it, more a proposal convenience.

But, like a prescription, your results may vary.
