Tried to reset password but email is apparently invalid

Hi there! 

As I had forgotten my password, I attempted to reset it but kept getting an error message saying that my email is invalid. I double and tripled checked to make sure I typed the email correctly but still the same. So I had to make a dummy account just so I can make a post asking for help as I couldn't find any other way to do so. Can anybody help?
