Unable to add/use payment method

Hi, Upwork can't accept my credit card for some reason, it keeps on declining it.

Hi Hassan

 

In general, this happens when the transactions you’re attempting on your card keep being declined by the bank. Please contact your card-issuing bank for more information about the specific charge decline.

If you’re still experiencing issues after checking with your bank, you can contact support by:

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the ‘Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select ‘Send’. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

I want to send the offer to the freelancer but I can't send money to him through PayPal and Vise, I get this error "You don't have a valid billing method on file with Upwork"

although I have a freelancer account also and I use the same Vise card and PayPal to withdraw the money with the same details and I use them also to buy from the internet so the issue should be from Upwork

If you’re still experiencing issues after checking with your bank, a quick way to contact our support team is by clicking the "Get Support" button that is shown on this page. You may be asked what type of account you need help with, please select the best option for your situation. If you don't receive the information you're looking for, you can select "Get Support" for more options, including contacting our support team.

We are unable to authorize your card. Please add another billing method or contact your issuing bank.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Please contact your card issuing bank regarding international transaction limits. You can also try again using a different payment method.  You may use a different card while sorting out the issue with your primary billing method. Hello. I had a card connected to my account. I added card n. 2 and set it as primary, even deleted the previous card. When i click get paid the only option i get is the card i deleted which is weird. Not showing the new card i added at all (in the pick option). But when i go to billing info theres only the new card i added.

Hello hope you are fine i just checked the issue you are facing and just wanted to tell you i have a same problem before some time i contacted to support team on a live chat and my issue was resolved in 12 hours try to contact the team thank you

Hello, I want to fund a milestone USD$3000. As expected, the transaction was blocked by my bank. So I called my bank to raise the spending limit for 24 hours and they did. Now, I tried to fund my milestone again on Upwork and I get a 
"You don't have a valid billing method on file with Upwork. Please correct this before making an offer."

There is also a note stating "Charged Failed." on my billing method. See attchment.

Can any Upwork representative help me with this? 🙂

The problem has been resolved. I have added a new billing method and linked Upwork directly to my bank account. I managed to add funds to the milestone now.

Hi guys, anyone pls tell me what to, as when I hire freelancer I am unable to do payment. It prompts out of charge. And just few hours back I hired someone. This happened all of sudden.

I am attaching snap also, and by the way I tried different method also.

One more thing When this started happening from that just few secs back I was hiring same perosn and I recieved OTP also but i noticed I entered wrong amount and since after that this problem occured.

 

Pls help ASAP

Please note that your credit card number or PayPal account cannot be edited. To update these, add them as a new billing method. To change, edit, or remove a billing method go to Settings > Billing Methods. Only an alternative billing method may be removed. To remove a primary billing method, add an alternative billing method, then set it as your primary billing method.

hello i always get error now if i want to pay the 2nd payment with my credit card , also when i try to pay using paypal it says that i need to be verified , my paypal is verified im very sure

 

and my credit card wont work again , this the error :
