Upwork ending boosting bids?

I've heard recently in a BD community that upwork is finishing the boosting bids and replacing it with something else? Anyone have proper information?

Hello Faisal,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We would like to let you know that we are testing out a new, simplified way to boost proposals on Upwork.  It is called "Pay What You Bid" test.

With this test, we will no longer give Connects refunds if you win one of the four boosted proposal slots and will no longer require all four slots to be full to boost any proposals.

Here's how it works, you place a bid for the amount of Connects you want to spend and if either of the below happens, you’ll pay exactly what you bid:

  • You are among the top four bidders at the end of the auction
  • The client interacts with you while your proposal is boosted. We consider eligible interactions as: the client opens your proposal, shortlists your proposal, messages you, archives your proposal, declines your proposal, or sends you an offer.

Please click this help article for your reference.

Thank you so much for the information

So then we will need more connects?

Hi Faisal,

Thank you for your message. You do not need more Connects. The number of Connects you use for a job is up to you, but you should think about how much the job is worth to you and how well you fit the requirements. Don't waste your Connects on jobs that are not a good match for your skills and experience. Use only the amount of Connects that you are willing to spend. You can refer to this help page for more information.
