I am Android App Developer, I had my Google Play Console, some scammers from subcontinent posted a Job saying "I want someone to Upload my Apps on Google Play" just like that, I unwillingly granted the access to my account, I made every possible discussion with them for fair use of my account and they assured me. But the client turned out to be a destructive to my account he published some prohibited material through my a console account and it ruined all my App develing career.
I have tried alot to reinstate my account, but in vain.
I have to ask:
Who is responsible for this lose which I experienced through this plateform?
The Upwork or the client or myself?
Who will help me to reinstate my account if suspension was caused by an scammer from this plateform?
Upwork should ban these kind of scammers from this plateform so that someone who joins this plateform for betterment in his/her career, but at the end of the day he/she becomes victim of scammers.
As we all know Upwork is a #1 plateform with great user base, it must help the Freelancers in these king of situations where I'm standing today!!

Upwork can't be responsible for your actions. You allowed another person access to your google account.

I have reported numerous scams like this, but despite that, there are still hundreds of job postings present without any action being taken to terminate those accounts. Whenever a victim of these scammers seeks help from the Upwork community, they receive false excuses to avoid addressing the issue. Unfortunately, my Play Developers Console is still in a termination state, and scammers continue to exploit Upwork as a platform to target Android Developers. I urge you to promptly address this matter and take down these scammers as soon as possible.
In end I request you again kindly help me to Reinstate my Play Developers Account by sending special request to Google Play Developers Business.
Thanks so much in advance.

It's almost a year, bro, time to give up 😂
Sorry 😁
Is the account connected to something, that it is hard for you to let go?
I've had my Gmail account since it was invite-only but I know that all of my life in it can be taken away at any time. It's a free account. I'm quite sure there's a clause somewhere stating that I will have no say in the event they decide to take it away for whatever reason (if anyone knows the opposite please enlighten me).
sending special request to Google
Did you read/hear somewhere that it could work? I don't believe so, or I don't think it will do better than providing the details yourself.
Also, I don't think they will listen to the plea from a company that allowed the Google Play Scamming Network running in their platform freely for years. 😁

I have been hiring freelancers for multiple amount of years by giving them sub account access to my Google play console, honestly I think I have not been any such issue. But I am curious to learn more about your issue.

Why the hell are those reported accounts still active and relentlessly screwing around on your pathetic excuse for a freelance platform, Upwork? If Upwork can't take any **bleep** responsibility, then explain to me why those goddamn job postings I've flagged a dozen freaking times are still up and those accounts are still running amok. I demand an explanation, if you're capable of providing one!

I really wonder if they are a scammer, what are their incentive and motivation?
Do you lose any financial loss? What damages did they do?

Hi, I saw this job posting and it appeared to be scam as rarely any client will ask you for uploading his app to your account. However you can use google "secure a hacked or compromised Google Account" service for restoring your google play account. You will find detailed step over there to recover your account.

I think Arshad its right. There is more than one publication of the same scam. And its dificult to find a way to report it. Remeber most the people here are for work, and for finacial needs, you must take more seriusly this kind of scamms

By definition:
You can't get scammed working on a project that you have sufficient expertise with.
If you are offering your services as a freelancer who works with Google Play Console, then you WILL NOT BE SCAMMED in any way having to do with Google Play Console.
Unless you lacked sufficient expertise to be working with Google Play Console.
Upwork is not Google. If you were scammed while using Google Play Console, that is not Upwork's fault in any way.

No he is not right. A scammer will never create an account or job post annoucing his scam, and its not impossible to identify a scam job plus its really easy to report. we all are adults here with pretty good understanding of how internet works. Do you think someone will give access to personal resources for free ? No. they were offered good money and its your greed that makes you victim.

Please tell me what are their motivation and incentive for their action? ?

You is responsible. Read Google terms. Your account - any illegal action is your fault.
You can ask Upwork to powide evidences about chat\payment but Upwork took no action with your Google account. So cannot be responsible.
For example, I will never let a stranger drive my car or give away my phone. Same with Google console.
But of course you must report it for illegal action and catch if able.

Sorry to say but only you are the only one responsible for what happened. if you granted access it was'nt unwillingly, no one forced you.
No one will help you you can ask google for this.
Seriously people dont give access to their github without very good reason, you gave them access to your console. wow.

We flagged the upload app jobs for years. We get freelancers declaring themselves as "App Uploader" instead.
It works a little different here than in a competitor site.

This scam is still on going on Upwork with numerous jobs posted per day for clients seeking to access your Google Play Console to publish an app, Upwork seems to be unable to ascertain the authenticity of the job since it is posted by clients who seem legitimate. One give away is that they are mostly not payment verified and all this jobs are from India, Pakistan & Ukraine, I had one of my Google Console Accounts permanently banned for allowing access of a client, the client is still alive and kicking on Upwork with no way of reporting them since the job was taken down, they occasionally come online on the messages which means they are still scamming developers and still have active Upwork accounts. Please be cautious as it is your responsibility on anything that happens on your Google Console account, Do not give access to anyone, do not apply for any job that seeks to access your Google Console Account. At this point Upwork should have been able to mitigate and protect developers but by this point am sure hundreds of accounts have already been banned emanating from this scam, It is now the responsibility of developers themselves to just not apply and flag these jobs to protect other fellow devlopers.

Hey can you please explain to me by giving access to your Google console account?
Because I have been a client and I have been giving sub account access of my Google console, bitbucket, etc to my freelancers but not my Gmail. I need to know what is the real case happening here. Did you mean that do not give your Gmail access account?
I feel that I am luckily have not been encountering any freelancer scammers, but I need to know more information to prevent it from happening.

You are too naive, they will use your account to commit crimes. You need to take responsibility for your actions
Apr 29, 2024 09:59:39 PM by Ely B
Can you please tell me their motive schemes ?
So do they like access the freelancers Gmail account and then start hacking people while logging on their account ??
Apr 27, 2024 02:39:30 AM by Erick N
In some way it is being naive, but also you would expect jobs posted on the platform to be legit. Either way it is a lesson learned and a caution to other developers to avoid such jobs and to avoid giving access to anyone on their console. ultimately the fault lies on me for giving access and i take full responsibility but Upwork should also have a reporting mechanism that allows such scammers to be identified, reported and stopped from scamming other developers. My post is merely to create awareness of such a scam and to protect other developers from making the same mistake i did.

What ?! you gave access to your personal gmail ?!!?
I do manage Google play console also but as you know, you can give separate sub account access, to your Google play console. By that mean, that other person is using their own personal Gmail to access the Google play console, without having able to access your personal Gmail.
Or is it that you are uploading his app on your Google Play console?
That sounds ridiculous also because he should have his own Google play console and then he give you that sub access account so then he can let you upload his own app on his own Google play console.
I think this is very technically unprofessional noobie in your side's logic either way...
