I could use some guidance on this....
I had a scheduled consultation with a freelancer. a day or two before the meeting, he contacted me and told me he couldn't make it and suggested a rescheduling time. I agreed.
as it turns out, there doesn't seem to be a way to reschedule the meeting and upwork seems to think the meeting already took place
is there a way to reschedule the appointment?
if not... how do I cancel the contract without getting charged, so I can rehire for the new date?

You can agree on another date via Upwork messages. If you both agree then there is no reason to renegotiate the contract, use the current one.
