Why is screen capture not capturing any of the images of applications I'm working in? (Pic included)

I'm working for a client, tracking my time, and it isn't recording images of any of the programs i'm working in, only showing the desktop. Why is this? I'll attach an image of every single screen capture I'm seeing:

Hi Nathan, 

It looks like you have several desktops/monitors. Do you have your Desktop App set to capture all monitors? You should be able to access this setting on the lower left-hand side of your Desktop App by clicking on the arrow beside your name.

It's a well known issue with Macs and has to do with your Mac's security settings, which prevents the contents of your screen being captured without your permission.
