how to approach first Client for new Freelancers?

Hi,

I Have been working on the Upwork Platform Since 2019. I have a good client List until now. somehow I got my first job very easily. but I have one another Account from my Friend. he has the same skill level as me. but he is struggling to approach the client for 2 years. Not even a single client has been given a job yet. Are there any better solutions for this? Thank you!
