Hi Shahood,
Your profile looks good. I think you should consider the keywords in your title, summary, and skills list.
Your overview/summary begins by mentioning several different types of videos you can produce. However, you mention only one Explainer Video in your skills list and your title does not mention video at all. If possible, you might want to consider adding Product Video and Social Media Video to your skills list. We are allowed only 15 skills, so only add relevant skill categories.
It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.
Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history, especially since those jobs are highly related to your services.
Everything else looks fine.

Ali,
Your profile has a problem that I see in many profiles; you have a lot of different skills and you are attempting to place them all in one profile. This will be confusing to clients. Clients usually look for freelancers who can provide specific work or solve a specific problem.
My suggestion is to focus your main profile on a specific skill area or related skill areas--either sales, data entry/transcription, or customer service/tech support--but not all three. Create two Specialized Profiles that focus on any services not in your main profile. For example:
For each profile, focus your overview/summary on the specific services you can provide to clients. The information in your current summary is good, but it needs to be separated based on your new main profile and both specialized profiles.
Also, add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients.
Once you separate your sales, data entry, and customer support profiles, I think clients will have a better understanding of your services and how you can help them.

Hi there, I'm new to Upwork. Can I get a feedback for my profile?
Thanks.
Sep 8, 2023 06:22:41 AM by Clark S
Hi Juan Diego,
Welcome to Upwork.
I see four things that I think should be updated in your profile:
1) Your overview/summary has good information, but I want to suggest a revision to the first two sentences. I focus on this because only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients in searches, which means you have a small window of opportunity to grab their attention. You want clients to see your service deliverables (their goals) within the first two sentences.
I'm highly skilled software engineer with experience in 3D, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Metaverse, PC, console, and Mobile Games. I can create unique and interesting game mechanics; design and implement new characters and content; and create game prototypes to test ideas and mechanics. I also enjoy rigging characters and vehicles as well as creating animation blueprints in Unreal Engine 5.
Expertise Area (Animation & Gaming): (...) |
2) Don't forget to include important skill categories in your skills list. As a game developer, you should consider Game Development, Game Design, Metaverse, Game Art, 2D Game Art, and 3D Game Art. It is important to keep your skills list updated with skills relevant to your title and summary so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.
3) Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. This is extremely important for someone in the game design industry. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression and clients will expect to see a few samples.
4) Add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history, especially since both jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide.

Hi, please I'm new here, help me to review my profile, I will really appreciate your reply thanks.
Sep 8, 2023 06:57:46 AM by Clark S
Hi Gbenga,
Welcome to Upwork.
Your title could use some spacing to distinguish between different subjects: Expert Content & Copywriter: eBooks | Blogs | Articles | Social Media
In your overview/summary, remove "Welcome to my profile! I'm Gbenga," Clients will only see the first two sentences in your summary, so you don't want to waste space with a greeting. Instead, start with:
Are you searching for captivating content and compelling copy that can elevate your brand, engage your audience, and drive results? Look no further! I'm a seasoned Content and Copywriter with a passion for crafting words that resonate, persuade, and inspire action.
(Add spaces to make your summary easier to read.)

✶ Why Choose Me? (...)
✶ Let's Elevate Your Brand: (...) |
Add more writing samples to your portfolio. Many clients will not click links to leave Upwork, so you should upload writing samples to your portfolio.

hello upwork!!
i need a review on my profile and i am really expecting your feedback...thanks
Sep 8, 2023 07:26:40 AM by Clark S
Hello Emmax,
There are four (4) important things you need to do to make your profile more appealing to clients:
1) The first thing you must do is change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face; no graphics or avatars. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.
2) Your overview/summary provides great information about your services, but it might not be enough. Add a brief overview of your experience; saying you are "seasoned" typically includes years of experience. Provide more details about how you will work with clients to understand their marketing needs. Then, provide information about any key accomplishments while providing digital marketing services to other clients.
3) Add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients.
4) Remove the job in your employment history if it is not a real job that you held.

Hi Muhammad,
I think your profile looks good. I recommend adding a one or two Facebook ad samples to your portfolio.
You should also consider adding a project catalog. The project catalog allows you to setup a pre-packaged service that clients can buy without you sending a proposal. Due to higher than usual requests for project catalogs, reviews and approvals are taking a minimum of 10 business days. Read Get Started With Project Catalog for more information.
Everything else looks good.

Hello Team,
Please review my profile & let me know if there are any recommendations to add to my profile- https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~017b920d1df6558e0a
Thank you
Sep 8, 2023 08:02:45 AM by Clark S
Hello Madhurima,
I think your profile provides good information to clients. However, I think your overview/summary could offer more details about your experience as a content creator, and any successes you have had with previous clients.
Your video introduction is great. If possible, you should also provide a version narrated in English; I think this might help reach a larger audience and generate more interest from clients.
In addition to your video introduction, I recommend adding a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create items that demonstrate your skills.
Everything else looks good.

Dear community members,
Please hear me out. I have registered on upwork long time ago (may be 7-9 years), but havent been active for years. Got back to it 2 years ago and started actively looking for jobs. I am a senior system administrator and most of my life working in IT, although been working in graphic design as an outsource for my secondary job. My first profile was for system administrator, as soon as I got back to upwork I found 3 jobs and successfully finished them, one was for 100$ and 2 other 10$ each. Soon I learned video editing and motion design and added an specialized profile. But things didn't go well. I haven't received any new job for next 5 month and I quit. Now I really want to get back to freelancing and want to get to intermediate/expert level to constantly have new gigs. But for last 1 month as I am still struggling to get new job clients never answering to my cover letters, I spent around 100 connects already. Could you please review my profile and give me some advice on how to improve description and portfolio?
P.S. I have removed my IT specialized profile and left only motion design, because I want to become maximally efficient in this field of work since I really love creating motion graphics.
Thank you so much in advance.

Aleksandre,
Well, you have some nice skills and some clear-headed thinking. What I need to say is stick with it. You're smart and you will learn from your mistakes. And keep asking questions.l
I like the way you handle your write-up, but there are lots of areas that need to be stronger. Go through it and take out all the details that make you sound weak or new to graphic design. Very simply two years of experience is not very much. Those are the things you should look for. Telling people you are "passionate" or "dedicated" just makes you sound like someone who started this work a week ago. Start thinking like a professional. (And don't use the word professional -- it's meaningless here.) In fact, pretend you've been doing this for 10 years and try to sound like that.
You say "My experiences have been truly diverse." Do you see how the word "truly" makes it sound like you're trying too hard to impress us? Professionals don't need to try that hard. Instead, say, "My diverse experiences have taught me ... X, Y and Z."
It's these little moments when I see someone with strengths trying too hard. You wrote, "I have had the priveledge of collaborating with gaming YouTube channels ...."
Priveledge? Really? You're a professional. This is work. The gaming industry job was just another job; it wasn't a beauty contest. You didn't go home with a trophy. Try to sound like a professional. Be straight forward: "I have worked with the gaming industry completing intros, outros and montages ..."
Take out the boyish enthusiasm and try to meet your clients with confidence. Your strongest message has to be "I can get the job done." It shouild not be, "Gee whiz, I get to do this ..."
You are clearly bright and I think you can understand what I am getting at. Also, your write up is a bit long, so don't worry about cutting. Don't add any ... trim it down and make it stronger and confident-sounding.

That's the best advice for a very long period of time in my life. Thank you so much for this!
