Hi!

I've sent lots of proposals already but haven't got an invite/offer.  Can you comment on my profile so I could improve it and hopefully get an offer someday.  Gina Lyn L. - Data cleansing / formatting / preparation using Excel - Upwork Freelancer from Paranaq...

I just couldn't include my work experiences in different companies.

Hope to receive a feedback.

Thank you.

Hello Saad,

I reviewed your profile and I think it looks good. There are a few grammatical errors in the first two paragraphs of your summary. It might sound better if you correct those errors and remove any unnecessary words. Maybe like this:

"I’m a experienced PPC Manager with a proven track record for lowering advertising cost (Acos) and increasing sales for my clients. I have helped my clients generate maximum sales from their accounts at lower costs. If you are looking to maximize your sales and boost ROI on Amazon, gain a competitive edge with my top-notch Amazon PPC strategy."

The other areas of your profile are in good shape.

Hello, Upwork community,

I'm looking for suggestions on improving my Upwork profile.

https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01e6876a2ad40113df

I sent many proposals but did not get a job. Please review my profile and give feedback.

Hello Kapil,

Your profile looks good, but here are a few suggestions that might help improve it:

Overview/Summary: There are a few grammatical errors in the first paragraph of your summary. Also, your summary flows well, but it will flow better if you remove extraneous words. For example:

I am a professional web developer and designer with more than 5 years of experience building modern responsive websites for multiple clients/companies. I can build custom wwebsites/plugins/themes/templates using modern design approaches in WordPress CMS (ACF, Elementor, Visual Composer). I can also build websites manually using HTML or PHP, and I have practical experience working with Webflow websites.

Skills: We are allowed up to 15 skill categories, so you might want to add relevant skills like Web Design, Web Development, WordPress Website, and Elementor.

Employment History: Add a short job description to the job in your employment history.

After you make these updates, keep applying to jobs by writing great cover letters. Always create a custom cover letter based on the client's specific job requirements. Focus on the client's needs and requirements; highlight your qualifications; and tell the client how you will meet their needs.

Good luck!

Hi Anawini,

Since you are new to Upwork, the best way to get started is to make your profile 100% complete. You can do that by going through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Hello Hamza,

I like your overview/summary; it offers prospective clients a look into your writing style. However, you should remove the last line: "I also know a bit about Python." Any client interested in your writing abilities will likely not care about your programming skills.

I think I would change the title to be more descriptive. Writer is fine, but what about something like Creative Writer or Writer | Articles, Blogs, Academic, Fiction & Non-Fiction.

thank you

Hamza,

I like your enthusiasm, but are you really sure you can live up to your extravagant claims? You want to explore "a world that has no bounds," by writing in a way in which the "words dance on the page"? I think maybe you should bring all that down to earth.

The problem is it doesn't sound like you've researched the writer's market very well. Most publishers are not looking for creative writers -- they're looking for serious writers who know how to meet deadllines with publication-ready copy.

There are, what, ten different online writing markets, maybe 15.  But you don't describe any of these with the kind of depth that a professional writer would know about. There's blogs, content writing, SEO writing, copywriting, white papers, and more, plus a ton of specialty niches, such as cooking, computers, cars and what have you. You don't mention any of these, either.

I don't think you can make up the gap in your credibility by overwriting. Try to get your promises back down to earth. That's what publishers are seeking.

thanks that helped alot

Hi Wemimo,

I looked through your profile and your freelancing experience shows. You provide good information in your summary, a good porfolio, skill categories, and great certifications. I think clients will understand exactly how you can help them.

Good luck!

Hello Mhmd,

You need to start with the basics. Right now, your profile does not have enough information for clients to understand what value you bring.

Start your overview/summary by saying something like: "I'm a highly skilled Flutter Developer with _____ years of experience building engaging apps for Android, iOS and desktop computers." You also need to add a portfolio to give prospective clients a few visual examples.

Make sure your profile is 100% complete before applying to jobs. The best way to get your profile setup is to go through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Hello Muhammad,

I think your profile looks good. Your overview/summary for your main profile and specialized profiles have valuable information for clients.

The only suggestion I have is to change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.

Everything else looks good.

Hello all, I really glad to be hear. Well I have been on Upwork since 2021 and sent out many proposals even reduced my per hour to $5 but no job.

Please I am open to suggestions and feedback from the community

Hello Fortune,

You have good information in your profile, but I think you need to revise your title and overview/summary.

Title: Your title should only contain specifics to your skill area or occupation. I think you should rephrase your title to say: Creative Wordpress Designer | Elementor Expert | SEO

Overview/Summary: You should remove the first line: "Hello Respected Buyer, this is "Fortune" Why? Because the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. You want to make a positive impression within those first few sentences, and you do not want to waste space with a greeting.

The other areas of your profile are in good shape.

Really great advice...

I appreciate if you review my profile and give me any suggestions for improvement.

Thanks.

Rania,

In a manner, it seems like you're kind of guessing where you fit in. You clearly have experience (you actually should go into more detail about that) but you're kind of willing to do whatever pops up.

It's much better if you're focused on one business skill and you become a bonafide expert in that service. I'm not a businessman, so I'm just guessing, but that would be something like, "I am a supply chain expert who can resarch import-export regulations, then advise you how to comply with international protocals ..."

See how specific that is? Then you would say, "I can streamline your supply chain issues to save you money ..." or something to that effect.

Just saying you're experienced in business management isn't, strictly speaking, defining a service that you know frontward and backward and can guarantee results for your clients. That would be more how a freelance business is run.

If you look around Upwork you'll see that the most successful freelance workers are very specific about the service they provide and the results their clients can expect.

Thank you Anthony for your input. I will work on your suggestion.

Hi Zainab,

I think your profile looks and sounds good. There is a small grammatical error in the first sentence in your overview/summary in your main profile. Also, I would not start the summary with "3X"  as most clients will not understand this. Then, I would add a little more substance to the first few sentences because this is what clients will see when they search. For example:

Highly skilled and successful Funnel Design enthusiast who specialises in using Clickfunnels, Kajabi and GHL to help you convert your website visitors into paying customers. I can create remarkable, responsive, high-converting funnels that leave a lasting impression on your customers and increase revenues.

What do I offer?

(Everything after this is good.)

Your portfolio, skills and other areas of your profile look good.

Hallo Upwork Community.  I am a new freelancer and looking for suggetions to improve my profile.  I want to know whether my current profile will attract jobs quickly of not.

Hello Edmond,

It is difficult to determine how effective a profile can be in attracting clients. But there are always things you can do to improve a profile.

The first thing you should do is change your profile photo. Your photo is not bad, but the picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.

The other suggestions I have for your profile focus on your overview/summary. Remove the first line: "PROFILE:" since this provides no value to prospective clients. Then, you should spend the rest of your summary telling clients how you can help them. Clients expect to read about your leadership skills and qualifications, but they really want to know how your skills/qualifications will benefit them. In other words, focus on how you can help clients. Maybe something like this:

A retired Public Servant with over 10 years'of experience in executive leadership in the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Service (MPNSCS). I help organizations develop effective security plans through administration, strategic planning, training and resource management.

I served in the RSIPF for 32 years and rose to the rank of Deputy Commissioner then elevated to the Permanent Secretary position in the MPNSCS and served for 5 years. My experience allows me to develop, implement and oversee your security management plan including the protection of property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards or interference.

You can add more or remove material as you see fit, but the basic idea is to tell clients what you can do for them and how it will benefit their organization.

You should also add more skill categories to your skills list, but only if they are relevant to the services you provide.

Hello Everyone, I'm looking for suggestions on improving my Upwork profile.

https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01c80911d354b5e1d9?viewMode=1

I sent many proposals but did not get a job. Please review my profile and give feedback.

Hello Arvind,

There are a few grammatical errors in your main profile and SEO specialized profile.

Main profile: "which has enabled me to effectively manage ad budgets of over 3 crores in a year" I'm not sure what "crores" means. Also, keep in mind that most clients rarely read lengthy profile summaries, so make sure your most important information is near the top.

SEO profile: I suggest removing the first sentence: "My name is Arvind Patidar, one of the renowned SEO Experts on Upwork."  Instead, simply say: "I'm an SEO expert providing both on-page and off-page SEO support for clientele in several countries."

Also, in your SEO profile, you should add On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO to your skills list.

Finally, add a short job description to your job at ClassMonitor in your employment history.

Hello Gourav,

I think the best way to improve your profile is to reduce the size of your overview/summary--for your main profile and both specialized profiles. All three are extremely long and most clients will never read that much.

You should add more items to your portfolio. Clients will expect to see a few more examples from a web/app/WordPress developer.

Finally, you should consider changing your profile photo. Your photo is not bad, but the picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.
