Job has been given to an applicant

How do I say on the advert, Job filled?

How do I stop people continuing to apply?

Hi Malcolm,

You can stop more freelancers from submitting proposals for your project by changing the visibility to private or invite only.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you!

Please tell me how. The Website is a jungle. There is everything except what I want. It looked simple at first.
But I kept getting applicants.

So I stopped the advert and the applicant then said he’d been thrown off the job! The Bot had misled me.

I want to know how to arrange the contract and then stop advertising.

That is basic but the website half does one thing and adds something else!

Hi Malcolm,

To change your job to private so that you will no longer continue receiving proposals from freelancers, please follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the job by going to Jobs  My Jobs
  2. Click Make Private from the (...) options menu

You can also find this information in this help article

Hi again

This is crazy. The system is out of control!

I finally find a page so I can hire someone and do so. That should be the end of it.

But No, I suddenly get 5 new offers to help with something I have not asked for. Some sort of Liaison work. I simply replied to (I thought) one of your staff, whose name appeared magically. I mentioned these confusing links and mis-use of words (or word).
What is going on?

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

Upwork Talent Specialists assist clients in finding the right freelancers and agencies and making the most of the tools Upwork has to offer. An Upwork Talent Specialist can help you with the following:

  • Review your job post to help attract the most qualified freelancers and agencies
  • Invite relevant freelancers and agencies who match your requirements
  • Highlight experienced freelancers and agencies for your consideration
  • Answer questions and offer tips about hiring on Upwork

I checked the job you recently posted and it looks like it is still available in search results (not yet set to private). This is why there are still freelancers who are submitting their proposals. If you have already decided to hire a freelancer, you may update the job post accordingly and continue working with the freelancer you have hired.
