Hi Morrison,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked and can confirm the transaction you're referring to was successful on our end. Direct to local bank transfers are processed within 4 business days, but it can take up to 7 business days to arrive at your bank. Holidays in the US and in your location can also delay the process. Please let us know if after 8 business days the funds are still not reflected in your account so we can initiate a trace for you.

Feel free to check this help article for more information.

Hello Upwork Support Team,

I am writing to inform you that I recently attempted to withdraw a payment from my Upwork account to my local bank account. Unfortunately, I received an email stating that the payment was rejected by the bank. I tried again using another bank account but encountered the same issue.

I was charged a fee of $0.99 twice for these failed transactions, and my payment was returned to my Upwork account. I have been using these two bank accounts for payment withdrawals without any issues in the past, so I am not sure what could have caused this problem.

I kindly request that you investigate this matter and refund the fee charged to me twice as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Shahzaib Naeem

It's my first time requesting for payment here direct to my local bank account and I got this email.

Can anyone please tell me why I can't successfully withdraw? Thank you.

Hi Guys,

I have not received any email regarding "Your paymnet has been processed" from UpWork. Normally it took few mins but it is almost 6 hours and I have not received that email. Second I tried to contact support staff but the bot does not allow me to chat with real person and providing useless responses. Your support is higly appricaited.

Hello! I recently changed my profile name to my married name, and attempted to update my bank details to match. However, the bank details were flagged as a mismatch, so I changed them back to my maiden name. I withdrew my payments around 10:30 am today using my old bank details, but by the afternoon, I had not received the funds in my bank account. Upon checking my bank details on Upwork, I discovered that my old bank details had been removed. I subsequently enrolled my new bank details, which were accepted. I am wondering where my funds went after I withdrew them using my old bank details, which had been removed. Is it possible that they will be deposited into my new bank account?

Upwork needs to notify freelancers when a clients payment method had been declined.  I have used Upwork on the client side, so I know that clients are charged on Mondays.

So explain why the freelancer doesn't know a client's payment method was declined until 1) They don't receive early payouts or 2) They are told to pause work and the contract is put on hold.

I am top rated plus and one of the only remaining perks of that is getting paid on Friday. I have a long-standing relationship with my client and I know that the card they have attached to this account is the card they tend to use for all UpWork payments as well as other resources. If it gets declined and I let them know, they are quick to resolve the issue.

This is now the second time where I haven't received my payouts early and no email was sent to either myself or my client about a declined payment. The contract is still active, I am actually logged in to the client's Upwork account and there is nothing there either. Yet, I remain unpaid. So what the heck UpWork?!

Issues like this combined with the fact that my fees are are going back up to 10% gives me no incentive to stay on the platform. The ONLY reason I have not switched to being paid directly is because I like getting paid weekly instead of bi-weekly.

Ticket number  #40041262 I require someone to investigate the issue because for now I am unable to get my medication or even buy food. Good job Upwork in saying "sorry".  "Sorry" will not fix the situation, it is over a week of waiting for my payment and still no one cares, no one explained anything, no one apologized, I only hear "sorry" every few days without any real fix. Is that how you earn the share of our earnings? Well done.

No you do not understand it. Yes, I am updating the ticket because I require someone to finally take care of it but NO ONE is responding except for something like "we're sorry" Is this a joke?? Do you know how it feels to stop medical treatment that you need to survive? Apparently not seeing how lightly it is treated, well lucky you. But I do need this money and my patience is growing thin. This is absolutely disrespectful and straight rude.

Hi, on April 19, 2023, I requeted a withdrawal from my Eastwest / Komo Bank. I have received a notification from my email regarding the requested payment. Based on my research, another email will be sent that a payment has been processed and it will show the expected delivery date of payment. Up to now, no email is received and from time to time I'm checking my bank still no funds are transferred. What should I do? I reviewed your payment guidelines and usually, payment will be processed within one business day and should arrive in the bank after four business days. Wherein my case, payment is not yet processed. Hoping for your favorable response. Thank you.

Hello,

Ive just initiated a withdrawal of my funds in Upwork. Ive been doing this for years and usually funds would reflect in my bank account an hour after the trnasaction is initiated. I would normally just encounter delays during US and/or our local holidays. Today is different though. There is no US holiday or local holiday that could cause a delay but my money is still not in my bank. Is there an issue with payment processing today?
