Identity Verification

Gov. ID was not approved, and yet it worked on a different page.

Everything shows. It´s not a pristine picture, but everything´s perfectly legible. Not sure how I could take a better picture..

Is there a place I can send it for a personal verification ?

Hi Ahmad,

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

Freelancers requested to submit identification documents should submit any of the documents listed during the verification process. Note that the list is different for each country.

 

If you do not have any documents from the list, you can submit a different government-issued ID, ensuring it’s unexpired and valid. This will trigger a manual review process. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria. 

 

Please note that your profile must represent you as an individual and that all the information in your profile, including your profile photo, needs to be accurate, truthful, and verifiable. We understand you may have provided a name and/or picture that you would like to update now. If that’s the case, and you’re being asked to verify your identity now, please proceed with submitting your ID and completing your Visual Verification anyways. If there is any issue or mismatch, our team will reach out to you directly to assist you.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.

 

If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

''APPLY'' button to job is disabled ( on both my freelancer & agency account )  , i can't apply to job now , pls assist

Hi, Nicolas!

 

About 4 weeks ago I got a message on the screen saying that I need to go through verification.

 

So, I scanned my passport, took a selfie as instructed, and got a message that everything was successful.

 

However, a week later, I did not receive any response and the message about the need for verification remained on the screen.


Therefore, I scanned the driver's license + selfie. Again, the system wrote that everything was successful. A week later, I repeated it. But no feedback.

 

I needed to buy more connections, but I couldn't because the screen said my account was limited.

 

Can you help me?

 

I don't understand what's wrong. I follow the rules and act within the law.

Dear Tho p

Thanks for contacts, some time the same problem may occure you need to
refresh your Upwork feeds/related fields or restary your mobile or pc
device in this way it is hope that problem may be resolved and be patient
some time it takes time. The last option will be in your case to get help
from Upwork customer team.

Hi upwork support, the stress of this verification is getting to much out of hands

What is the resolution from your baack end to resolve this.. I'm literally tired of this verification for the past 2 weeks now

Hi Upwork support, I stumbled upon a problem that I simply can't verify my identity. I have an old-style Ukrainian passport (not an ID card) and that's why the system says "We couldn't recognize your document", no matter how I tried to take a photo of it. It's absolutely genuine. Can you check this? Looking forward to your reply

My identity verification process has exceeded 15 days, preventing me from submitting proposals. Despite checking my spam folder and ensuring my email settings are not blocking Upwork, I have not received any notifications or emails regarding the delay. Is a 15-day verification period considered normal? Additionally, I have not been informed of any additional documents required for verification. Upon checking my verification status, it remains pending after 15 days, which I find excessively prolonged and concerning.

I can't proceed with identity verification because: 

1) the upwork app doesn't request camera access to my phone

2) the website doesn't provide a desktop procedure

 

How can I solve this? I don't want to loose my account.

Receive popup about Identity verification "Action Required: Verify your identity to continue winning"
But when I click "Get started", it show:

Error 404 (N)

Trace ID: 86e9febec9b620ee-HKG

 

Meantime I cannot apply for any job. The "apply job" button just gone gray. I check my balance and I have 50 connects.

I tried accessing the link through 2 different devices.

I am having an incredibly hard time getting help on this issue, I tried to create a request throught the chat bot but it refused to make a request and we kept going in circles.

hello, when I try to verify my identity I it says "document type required" but there is no option to choose and I cant see anything, I upload an image so you can see , please help.

Hi Joanne, thank you for this information. I also have a concern on the same. I was asked to verify my account and I did with my Government ID. It didn't verify automatically so I was told there is a manual review going on. How long does the manual review take?

 

Also, I can't apply for jobs. Is that also because of the manual review or another issue entirely?
