Process of hiring a designer?

Hi,

I'm new on Upwork and I don't know much about how it works.

So, I sent a proposal to a couple of clients and 2 clients replied back to me, they gave me the brief and want me to work on a branding project for their product.

Now, I am confused, what does that mean?

Have they hired me as their designer? Should I send them the work I have done for them?

Will it be safe? Cause nowhere it says that they have offered me the job.

I don't want to send them any files without being sure.

Please help.

Thanks!

Don't work without an accepted offer. Read up on how to use the site before doing anything else. You expose yourself to great risk without knowing the basics.

Submit proposal > Interview (often, not always) > Client makes Offer > Review and accept (or not) Offer > Contract is in place, submit work only via funded milestones or hourly tracking

Lots of resources to read here: https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us

not only shouldn`t you send them anything before a contract is active, you shouldn`t do the smallest bit of work before, either.
