Why is an attached docx document opening instead of downloading?

Of late, I have noticed that when I click on an attached docx file, it opens instead of downloading.

 

Pdf and doc files get downloaded; docx opens instead of downloading.

 

I prefer to download the file and check it with my antivirus before opening a file.
