I'm on my first attempt to hire someone. Joboffer is ready and discussed - it will be fixed price project (browser extension development). There are some questions i have no answers:

  1. What are the differences between hiring a freelancer on the "usual" way and making a direct contract?
  2. What are pros and contras of each other?
  3. What are usual cases to do the one or another?

Hi Evegeniy,

I wanted to confirm if you're asking the difference of hiring the freelancer by reviewing their proposals, and interviewing them, versus sending a freelancer a direct offer to hire them?

Direct hire is good when you want to hire one specific person for the job, since you can hire only one this way. If you want to manually invite people or want everyone to see your job post then you do it the usual way. But there's is no difference. But at least you won't waste the time and connects of other freelancers
