Upwork requires me to fill W9 or W8 even though I am not American nor live in the US.

Just the title. I am Egyptian living in Egypt, so none of these forms are applicable to me. Do I even bother with upwork or just jump ship?

My opinion :

w8e is a certificate of approval regarding you as a taxpayer of personal income. So fill in according to your taxpayer profile in the country you live in.
If you are not a taxpayer for income tax, just fill in according to the W8E content guide as a condition only.
I am also not a taxpayer.

Sorry I forget, that W8E related with royalty commission. I'm not so understand it. Maybe you can ask a Lawyer or someone that more expert about this.
