I am having a similar issue. I am setting up a personal freelancer account and I need a phone number to proceed with the final step but my phone number is also being used for a client account which I need. Could someone advise please.

I recently reactivated my account and updated my profile. However, when I go to apply for jobs it's telling me my phone number is in use, so I cannot receive the text with the code I need to move me forward with the application. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've updated my number in the settings tab. Thanks.

When trying to apply or look for work, the site tells me to verify my number, but I created this account and this is my number, yet it tells me that it is already in use. Would anyone be able to assist with this issue?

I have been trying to contact support about this problem, and they haven't fixed it yet:
"Phone number already in use. Please, check it and try again. If you're still having problems, please contact support."
My current number was used in an old account that is now closed, so I don't have access to it any more.
